Window operating system के मुख्य Components निम्नलिखित है।
Desktop
Computer को शुरु करने के बाद जो पहला स्क्रीन
हमारे सामने दिखाई देता है, उसे Desktop कहा जाता है। Desktop पर Icons, Files,
Folder, Wallpaper, Recycle
bin, Taskbar इत्यादि प्रदर्शित किये जाते है। Desktop पर दिखाई देने वाले किसी Icons, Files, Folder
या Programs को Double Click करके हम Open कर सकते है।
Icons
Icons Computer Desktop
पर दिखाई देने वाले छोटे छोटे Graphical Images
होते है, जिसपर हम Double Click करके किसी Files या Program को Open कर सकते है या Execute कर सकते है। Icons Computer
में उपलब्ध
किसी Files या Folder के Shortcut होते है।

My Computer
My Computer एक छोटे आकर का Icons होता है, इसमें Computer में Store किये गए सभी प्रकार की Files और उसकी जानकारी
उपलब्ध होती है। इस Icons का उपयोग करके हम Computer के Hard Disk में उपलब्ध Data , Files व Folder को देख सकते है और उसे Manage कर सकते है।
इस Icons पर Right Click करके इसके Property Option
में जाकर हम Computer में उपलब्ध
RAM, Storage Capacity,
Hardware Configuration की पूरी जानकारी
प्राप्त कर सकते है।
MY Documents
My Documents Icons Computer में पहले से दिया रहता है, ये Default Folder
होता है। जब भी हम किसी Files को Save करते है, तो वो सीधा My Documents Folder
में Save होता है।
Recycle Bin
Recycle Bin Window
operating system में एक विशेष प्रकार का Folder होता है। जब भी हम Computer में किसी files या folder को delete करते है, तो वो computer से पूरी तरह delete नहीं होता बल्कि वो recycle bin में store हो जाता है। कंप्यूटर से delete किय्र गए files को आप recycle bin से फिर से restore कर सकते है, और deleted files को वापस पा सकते है। लेकिन यदि आप recycle bin से किसी files या folder को delete कर देते है तब आप उसे वापस पा नहीं सकते है। Recycle bin icons का उपयोग delete किये गए file को store करने के लिए किया जाता है।
Internet Explorer
यह एक प्रकार
का web browser
या application program है, जिसका उपयोग internet surfing करने या web browsing करने के लिए किया जाता है।
File And Folder
icons
विभिन्न प्रकार के कार्य को करने के लिए User द्वारा Files का उपयोग किया जाता है, या Files को बनाया जाता है।
Folder icons उपयोग files और अन्य folder को store करने के लिए किया जाता है।
Task Bar
Task bar Window
operating system में सबसे निचे की ओर होता है। Task bar में आप किसी भी application को frequently use के लिए pin to taskbar
option के माध्यम से pin कर सकते है।
Task bar को कई हिस्सों
मे विभाजित किया जाता है।

Start menu task bar में बाईं तरफ होता है, start menu computer का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण
button होता है। Computer को start करने, shut down करने, computer
को operate करने या computer में किसी भी प्रकार के कार्य को करने के लिए start menu में सभी प्रकार
के program और option उपलब्ध होते है
Main Task Area
Main task area taskbar के बिच में होता है। इसमें सभी खुले हुवे files, folder, application
व program को प्रदर्शित
किया जाता, जिसका इस्तेमाल आप कर रहे होते है।

Area
Notification
area task bar में दाएं तरफ होता है। यहाँ date, time, network position, volume इत्यादि जानकारी को प्रदर्शित
किया जाता है।
User Interface
User interface एक ऐसा माध्यम
जिससे User operating
system से communicate कर पाते है। User interface में graphical user interface या command line interface हो सकता है। Graphical user interface
में icons, windows, button
इत्यादि सम्मिलित
होता है, जिसके माध्यम से user operating
system से communicate कर सकते है। Command line interface
में user text command
के माध्यम
से operating system
से communicate कर सकते है।
Security system
Security system window
operating system और user के data को cyber attack
से सुरछित
रखती है। Security system
unauthorised access को रोकती है। ये malware और virus को पहचान उसे computer system
से delete कर देती है
Device Driver
Device driver का उपयोग hardware devices को चलाने और उसे manage करने के लिए किया जाता है। Device driver operating
system और hardware के बिच interface प्रदान करता है। अलग अलग hardware devices के लिए अलग अलग device driver होते है, जैसे graphical driver,
printer driver इत्यादि।
Network System
Network system एक computer को दूसरे computer या network devices के साथ communicate करने की क्षमता प्रदान करता है। Network system, network connection और internet को manage करता है। इसका उपयोग data sharing और resources sharing के लिए किया जाता है।
